I still feel your pain, I'm taking doors down one at a time to strip the hinges and remove all the paint from the glass doorknobs!!! 80 years of gunk built up on doorknobs...GROSS!
Are you stripping the wood on the doors -- actually stripping -- or removing the stray paint spottings with a "refinisher" type product?
Cottage - That is a whole other topic for me.....people who paint hardware. Ugh.
Anon - I'll write a longer post about it with photos, but I'm not stripping the doors. I'm using a straight edge razor to carefully take of the paint spots. I just started, but have been using "Goof Off" to get off the strips of paint along the hardware (photo in this post). I actually have three doors done now, so watch for a longer post soon.
