Get Ready

Okay, just so we are all prepared. This is what we (well, I...and you vicariously) will be dealing with this summer.

You will remember, I took the aluminum trim down almost two years ago. Wow, it doesn't seem that long ago. I had kind of hoped if I waited long enough that the paint would fall off by itself. No such luck.

Fun, huh?  If you listen carefully, you should be able to hear the sound of my neighbors cheering.

I'm ready. I'll be dealing with something similar myself this summer.

I am trying to get up the courage to rip the aluminum off my front porch this summer. Can't wait to see how your's progresses. Hopefully it gets me going.

Oh boy, oh boy, do I want to see how this goes. One day, when the interior is further along, I mean to rip the aluminum cladding off my gables and eaves, too, and it'll be useful to be forewarned.

In the same boat! Got some parts of the house nice and finished... but the painting hovers like a dark cloud over the whole mess :)

Windows(restoration)are happening this year, followed by the porch restoration... THEN I can paint!

Best of luck! We'll be watching!

You’ll get there … just keep pluggin’ away. I can vouch for how quickly time passes. Take for instance my kitchen. Yeah, that one. The one that was going to be finished at the end of August … last year.

I keep forgetting to ask who did the rafter tail restoration for you. I have some that need fixin' before I can paint, and yours look very nice.

Thanks!

Garden Monkey - Scheftel Construction did the rafter tail repair (also did the custom kitchen cabinet for me). There is a link to their site on the left hand side bar. I can't recommend them highly enough. Have more projects I'm hoping to get them to work on this summer...fall.

Great job , Stucco! Thanks for doing this. Did you make it to any of the houses on tour? I thought they were all wonderful.
Can't wait to see your finished kitchen.
