Just a very quick little post with a quick tip for other folks working on a Tappan Deluxe. The thermostat knob slides off very easily and cleans up nicely with an old toothbrush and some warm soapy water. Here's my before & after.

I also have a tappan stove and when I came home today the knob from the right door, if you are looking at he stove, was laying in the floor. I have searched our pictures but could not see how to reattach it. Do you have any suggestions? Any help will be greatly appreciated.
Do you mean the little knob that opens the storage compartment right below the burner knobs? If so, you need to slide off the burner knobs, a little spring behind them, and then the round plastic plate. Once you have those off, the little manifold panel comes off. On the back side of there there is a screw & a little metal weight that runs through the panel & into the knob. I suspect the screw just came undone (?). This sounds more complicated then it is.
I have my manifold panels off, so if this sounds right...let me know and I can email you a photo.
Thank you so much!! It is now fixed.
Yeah! Glad it helped.
